Background
Dol & Namu is a handmade jewelry brand inspired by Korean colors, textures, and natural materials, co-founded with my mother. Starting as a physical-market business, we sold one-of-a-kind pieces at local flea and holiday markets.
I led the end-to-end design of the brand and its first digital touchpoint, developing the visual identity, defining the brand voice, and launching a simple website to support discovery and custom orders.
Problem
As a newly launched small business operating primarily through in-person markets, Dol & Namu faced a gap between physical discovery and digital continuity. Customers who encountered the brand at markets had no clear way to revisit the brand, browse past work, or request custom pieces.
Additionally, the nature of the product as one-of-a-kind, handmade jewelry made traditional e-commerce models less suitable. Each piece varies significantly in material and availability
Goal
- Translate the tactile market experience into a clear and trustworthy online presence
- Establish credibility for a new, early-stage brand
- Enable flexible custom order inquiries
- Preserve the brand’s cultural and material authenticity
